FOR THE RENEWAL AND PROTECTION OF THE BRAIN AND NERVOUS SYSTEM

Lithium is a unique and safe essential trace mineral with multiple uses. Lithium orotate is the safest, most effective and most absorbable form of lithium available on the market today.

It is a trace mineral and generally prescribed as a dietary supplement and frequently used in small doses to treat conditions including acute and chronic stress, ADHD and ADD, manic depression, alcoholism and aggression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), neuro-degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, and to improve memory.

The lithium salt of orotic acid (lithium orotate) improves the specific effects of lithium by increasing lithium’s bio-utilization in the body.

Because of the superior bioavailability of lithium orotate, the therapeutic dosage is much less than the other prescription forms of lithium.

Children 7-12 years:  Take 1 capsule (3mg) in the morning

Children over 12 years and adults:  Take 1 capsule (3mg) twice a day.

60 Capsules – 1 month supply

  • Stress
  • ADHD – Lithium may be as effective as Ritalin (methylphenidate) in treating ADHD and is particularly useful in reducing aggressive behavioral patterns in ADHD children.
  • Depression and Mood Disorders
  • Manic Depression/ Bipolar Disorder
  • Drug & Alcohol Recovery
  • Anxiety
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Glaucoma
  • Migraine and Cluster Headaches (lithium reduces intracellular oedema)
  • A well-established therapy for Graves’ disease
  • Low levels of lithium associated with increased incidence of gout and arthritic conditions
  • Recent research has unveiled brain-protective and even brain-regenerative powers of lithium.

  • In addition to helping to control gout, rheumatism and relieving rashes caused by sebhorric dermatitis, lithium also has some great brain-boosting effects. Research indicates lithium as an anti-aging nutrient for human brains.
  • There are also some very strong reasons to believe that lithium therapy will slow the progression of serious degenerative mental problems, including Alzheimer's disease, senile dementia, and Parkinson's disease.
  • According to their report in the Lancet, Wayne State University (Detroit) researchers found that lithium has the ability to both protect and renew brain cells.  8 out of 10 individuals who took lithium showed an average 3 percent increase in brain grey matter in just four weeks.
  • Lithium may help to generate entirely new cells too: another group of researchers recently reported that lithium also enhances nerve cell DNA replication.  DNA replication is a first step in the formation of a new cell of any type.
  • Aside from boosting brain mass, recent research also shows that lithium can help protect the brain from the "beating" it takes during the course of everyday life. Your brain cells are constantly at risk of damage from exposure to toxins of all sorts -even ones produced by your own body. Toxic molecules are formed naturally during the course of normal brain metabolism. Since these "normal" toxic molecules (sometimes called "excitotoxins") are produced every day of your life, eventually they start to wear down or erode away brain mass.
  • Another well-known cause of brain cell injury is over activating N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors. Lithium can inhibit this over activity and lithium also increases production of a major brain protective protein called "bcl-2" in both human and animal brain cells.  So it appears that lithium can protect against normal brain erosion and shrinkage that would otherwise occur over the course of our lives.
  • But lithium also protects the brain from other less "normal" problems, like damage caused by prescription medications and strokes.
  • Lithium should be used along with any patent medicine prescribed for depression, anxiety, or any other –mood disorders, since it will protect brain cells against their unwanted toxic effects. Proof also exists that the addition of lithium to such medication will augment their clinical action.
  • Communication between brain cells and networks of brain cells is called "signaling".  Lithium is actually necessary for at least two signal-carrying pathways.  Researchers have also reported that lithium may help to repair abnormally functioning signaling pathways in critical areas of the brain.
  • There are many other research findings that also strongly suggest that lithium will protect against potential Alzheimer's disease and slow the progression of existing cases. Researchers have reported that lithium inhibits beta-amyloid secretion, and also prevents damage caused by beta-amyloid protein once it's been formed. Beta-amyloid peptide is a signature protein involved in Alzheimer's disease: the more beta-amyloid protein, the worse the Alzheimer's becomes.
  • Apart from its very beneficial effects on the brain, lithium may also enhance the function of the immune system and stimulate stem cells. Lithium may also be useful for the treatment of an overactive thyroid.

The function of lithium may be enhanced by tryptophan, inositol and vitamin E.  Sodium bicarbonate and tartaric acid may decrease lithium levels.

Recommended dosages for the enhancement of brain function in normal healthy persons ranges between 1-20 mg of lithium oratate. It is well absorbed from the intestines and eliminated by the kidneys.ACTIVE

INGREDIENTS:

Toxic effects of lithium may include hand tremors, frequent urination, increased thirst, nausea and vomiting. Reduced thyroid function and fatigue are also noted side effects. Concomitant use of serotonin-boosting antidepressant medication or supplements should be managed with caution, since lithium may increase the effectiveness and side-effects of these. Concomitant use of diuretic medication should be managed with caution and under the supervision of your doctor, since diuretics may enhance the effects and side -effects of lithium.
